How to properly care for your face? Each skin is individual and requires an individual approach.
How to take care of your face right:
1. Makeup removal
Start your facial with make-up removal, because skin regenerates fastest at night and needs to be perfectly clean for the recovery process to go smoothly. Makeup removal is the first step in your evening beauty ritual.
Make-up remover effectively dissolves the remnants of colored cosmetics, sebum and impurities accumulated on the skin during the day. Their formulas do not require the use of water, but leave a thin film on the skin that can contribute to blackheads, inflammation and skin irritation.
Therefore, it is extremely important to perform the second stage - cleansing the skin with water.
2. Purification
To keep your skin looking healthy, wash your face thoroughly twice a day. After waking up, remove excess sebum, wash off the remnants of night makeup and refresh your face. In the evening, cleanse the skin with a make-up remover. It is important that the cleansing cosmetic product removes all impurities without disturbing the natural protective barrier of the skin.
3. Toning
Water and facial cleansers slightly disturb the natural pH of the skin, so after cleansing and drying the skin, it is necessary to use a tonic to restore its correct, slightly acidic reaction.
Toning agents additionally refresh, moisturize and soothe. The most enjoyable way to apply this beauty product is by spraying your face with a spray or applying toner directly to the skin and lightly patting with your fingertips.
Tip : Always apply beauty products to slightly damp skin to enhance the effectiveness of the active ingredients they contain.
4. Serum
This is a cosmetic product for special tasks that solves certain skin problems and properly cares for the face.
The rich composition and high concentration of active ingredients allow, for example, to quickly improve hydration, lighten discoloration, narrow pores. For best results, it is important to use them regularly.
Serum can have a formula of water, oil and cream - such a variety allows you to ideally choose a cosmetic product for your skin type.
Depending on your needs, you can use them alone or under your favorite cream. Serum is not an essential element of daily care, but it is a nice variety and an effective help in the fight against skin problems. If you want to properly care for your skin, it should be in your makeup bag.
5. Eye cream
The skin under the eyes is much thinner and more delicate than on the rest of the face, and therefore requires special care. The active ingredients contained in eye creams increase the elasticity of the skin, improve microcirculation and thus reduce swelling caused by lymphatic congestion.
Eye cream should be started before you notice a loss of skin elasticity. It should be included in daily care from about 25 years of age.
6. Face cream
Daily cream
A daytime face cream should be different from one used at night, because the needs of our skin, like the environment, change during the day.
The day cream acts as a protective shield, protects the skin from external factors such as wind, frost and sun, and provides adequate hydration.
Ideal day cream:
Provides sun protection. Our skin has a natural UV filter with SPF 6. Therefore, to provide yourself with increased protection, choose a cream with an SPF factor greater than or equal to 15.
It has antioxidant properties, that is, it contains substances such as vitamin C or coenzyme Q10, which constantly “sweep away” free radicals that cause premature skin aging.
The day cream creates a protective film on the skin that protects against smog and other pollution.
It is light, quickly absorbed, suitable for make-up.
Night cream
After a whole day, the skin needs regeneration and nourishment. During the night's rest, the beneficial ingredients contained in cosmetics act most effectively to support the physiological renewal of the skin.
Ideal night cream:
Nourishes and strengthens the structure of the skin, damaged during the day. That's why he needs ingredients that are embedded in the intercellular binder and close the skin's hydrolipidic barrier. For example, ceramides , phospholipids, squalene , and vegetable oils rich in polyunsaturated fatty acids.
The night cream provides optimal hydration by retaining water in the upper layers of the epidermis.
It regulates renewal processes, stimulates the synthesis of collagen and elastin, which provide proper skin density.
7. Peeling
Skin cells are renewed throughout our lives. They are destroyed in the deeper layers of the skin and gradually move to its upper levels, where they die and exfoliate.
This mechanism occurs cyclically, in young and healthy skin it lasts about 28 days. The duration of the cycle increases with age and as a result of many external and internal factors, such as illness or improper care.
That is why it is worth using peels that remove the calloused epidermis and stimulate the formation of new cells in the skin. As a result, the skin is smoothed, brightened, pores open, wrinkles become smaller, and other cosmetics are better absorbed.
Use peels on average once a week. Their type must match the type of skin.
There are two types of peels:
- Enzymatic. They contain plant-derived enzymes (like papain from papaya and bromelain from pineapple) that gently dissolve dead skin cells and condition the face.
- Grainy. They contain abrasive particles, such as peanut shells, corundum, which intensively exfoliate dead skin cells.
8. Masks
Ideal after exfoliation, masks will help take care of the skin, after which the skin can absorb the most beneficial substances. In addition, the application of masks is a great opportunity to relax, take a breath and feel like in a spa.
It is best to use masks several times a week, and their type should be adapted to the season or exceptional circumstances:
1. In the summer - due to the increased production of sebum, choose masks based on clay and activated charcoal that cleanse and detoxify.
2. In winter - based on nourishing oils and vegetable oils, which create an enveloping compress that protects the skin from unpleasant external factors: wind, frost. 3. After a long journey and a sleepless night, the skin is dehydrated and needs to be moisturized. Hydrogel and sheet masks are a quick and pleasant solution. They work on the principle of occlusion, that is, they are similar to a moisturizing and nourishing compress, which contributes to better absorption of active ingredients.
4. Before heading out on your big day, use brightening masks to revitalize and brighten your skin. Responsible for such actions are, among others, vitamin C, gold and pearl extract.
